Diesel price goes up but petrol prices stay the same

Phnom Penh, 1 June: The price of diesel in Cambodia has been increased by 50 riel per litre, but the prices of petrol will remain the same. According to the Ministry of Commerce, the retail fuel prices at local stations from 1 June to 15 June have been set as follows: both types of petrol stay at 3,800 riel per litre, while the diesel price has climbed by 50 riel to 3,450 riel per litre.

Fuel prices in Cambodia have been on the rise in recent weeks, as they have around the world. This is being blamed on the international oil price, which has climbed 70% over the past 12 months, as demand for oil increases as the Covid-19 pandemic eases in the United States, China and other major economies.

This assistance to the Ministry of Interior is important for ensuring the safety and security of the dignitaries and delegates who will be attending events related to the ASEAN Summit in Cambodia 2022 and other events. In this case, the 300 million yen will be used for acquiring technical equipment in order to strengthen Cambodia’s security and counter-terrorism capabilities. </p><p>According to his statement, Cambodia is strongly committed to working closely with other ASEAN Member States and dialogue partners, including Japan, to address economic, political and security challenges in the region. Challenges such as the adaptation of Covid-19 and the rehabilitation of social and economic impacts. </p><p>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has thanked the friend nation, saying Japan has always been a reliable partner for ASEAN, supporting key initiatives related to the Covid-19 epidemic, including the ASEAN Regional Medical Reserve for Public Health Emergencies and the ASEAN Comprehensive Rehabilitation Framework. Japan has also given Covid-19 vaccine through the Covax Facility.
